Equality and Anti-Bullying Service - Termly Network

Engaging positively with parents and carers using social media

Outline

The agenda will include:
  • sharing and exploring of issues
  • identifying what positive use of social media groups looks like including how to share and celebrate equality and anti bullying practice with parents and carers
  • development of strategies to prevent issues arising
  • tips and strategies for how to respond to a range of issues emerging from parental use of social media groups and apps.

Description

This network will be an opportunity to share and explore issues that occur in parental use of Facebook and Whats App groups related to school.
Good practice ideas will be shared and strategies suggested. If there is time we will share good practice in communicating with parents and carers about online safety for their children.

Schools are invited to contribute scenarios prior to the session.

Outcomes

Increase in school confidence to prevent and manage issues related to parent and carer Facebook and WhatsApp group use.
