Promoting Positive Behaviour - Programme 3 Day 2

Outline

This is a four-part programme and delegates are expected to attend all sessions

The aim of these sessions is to ensure that NQTs have the skills and confidence to teach positive behaviour, ensuring that their pupils learn within a positive classroom climate with high expectations.

Description

Course activities include:
Reflection on common classroom behaviours
Sharing experiences and best practice
Strategies to try with your class
Information, advice and guidance to support you in school
Tasks to carry out between the sessions

Outcomes

By the end of the course you will be able to create a positive classroom context, build positive relationships, set appropriate high expectations, teach positive behaviour and respond to inappropriate behaviour effectively.

Teachers’ Standards
TS1: Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils
TS2: Promote good progress and outcomes by pupils
TS4: Plan and teach well structured lessons
TS5: Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of all pupils
TS7: Manage behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment

Audience

This course is suitable for NQTs in all primary schools.
