NQT Induction Tutor Training

Outline

This session will give induction tutors/managers the tools they need to successfully monitor and support their NQTs through the induction year.

Description

Course activities include:
Explanation of the NQT regulations
Roles and responsibilities of all involved in induction
An NQT’s statutory entitlements
How to monitor progress
Demonstration of the relevant Brighton & Hove NQT web pages
How to complete an assessment form
Looking at the Teachers’ Standards – collecting evidence, setting targets, CPD activities
What to do if an NQT experiences difficulties

Outcomes

By the end of the course you will have an understanding of the key principles of good induction practice, assessing & target-setting against the Teachers’ Standards and the roles & responsibilities of the induction tutor.

Participants will also be made aware of the monitoring process that operates within Brighton & Hove to ensure that NQTs are receiving a high quality induction in their schools.

Audience

All induction tutors/managers are strongly advised to attend. It is recommended that training is updated every two years.
