From September 2019 Ofsted inspection is changing and schools and governors need to have a good understanding of what’s new and different so that they can plan and prepare accordingly.
This session will look at the framework and its impact on the role of governors and will include any updates or changes that may have been made to the draft framework. With its increased focus on the pupil’s educational experience in school and preparing them for the next stage of their education this framework will result in changes to CPD needs, school Improvement planning and monitoring.
The session will comprise of the following: A presentation of the the main features of the new Ofsted inspection framework Time for questions Governors will work in groups to look at the new Ofsted inspection evaluation schedule, and start to put together questions they want to ask their school leaders Finishing with a feedback session, to collating the governors questions so that by the end of the evening, we’ve got a common list of questions/issues that governors can use to challenge and support their school leaders as they move forward.
This session covers: to gain an understanding of the new Ofsted framework to understand, in particular, the new ‘quality of education’ judgement to gain an understanding of how inspections will look from September 2019 to consider the key questions governors should be asking their school leaders, to support and challenge them, as they prepare for the new inspection regime.
