The aim of this event is to welcome Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) to Brighton & Hove, by bringing them together in an informal setting. Induction tutors are also welcome to attend with their NQT, especially if they are new to the role. This event is suitable for NQTs teaching secondary age pupils.

Refreshments and registration from 3.30pm.

Description

Teacher union representatives and local authority officers will be available to offer information and advice before and after the main event.

Outcomes

At the end of this session, NQTs will be aware of their statutory duties and entitlements, as well as how they will be supported in their induction year.

There will be a demonstration of the Brighton & Hove NQT portal, which hosts the training programme, resources, monitoring forms and guidance documents.

There will also be a presentation from a teacher who has recently completed their induction year and some tips for effective classroom management from a member of our Behaviour & Inclusive Learning Team.
