This service provides advice, guidance, training and development to governing boards so they can carry out their strategic leadership roles & responsibilities and contribute effectively to school improvement. The service also provides support and development opportunities for clerks so they can co-ordinate the work of their governing boards and advise them appropriately.
This service is available to governing boards of maintained schools, academies, free schools, multi-academy trusts and independent schools.
For Brighton & Hove maintained schools, there is an annual charge at the beginning of the financial year by journal transfer.
Payment from academies, free and independent schools will be completed through invoice.
For schools not accessing the SLA, there is a ‘pay as you use’ charge for training events from the programme. Bespoke whole governing board sessions in school can also be arranged for an additional charge.
